DWG April 2017 Fiber Arts Style Show Photo Gallery

On April 2 the Guild had a champagne reception and style show as part of its 2017 month-long exhibit and sale at the Chesterton Art Center.  A variety of beautiful and creative handwoven, spun, dyed, knit, crocheted and felted garments, bags, and items for the home were displayed at the Art Center throughout April, and many were modeled by Guild members on April 2.  Some of the rugs in the show were woven by the weavers at Sharing Meadows.  Almost all of the items in the exhibit/show were available for sale.

PresChall
This year's President's Challenge for the April Exhibit was to use recycled material in a project.
  Above are the
inventive and very attractive items made by members who responded to the Challenge: a silk bag made with recycled sari silk and lined with recycled jeans, a twined rug made with recycled sweaters and coat, and a scupture made with recycled gutter screen and beads.

Margaret

Margaret Jones was again our narrator for the Style Show.  As each model came out, she handed Margaret a card with information about the item she was modeling.  Margaret then used that information for her commentary and she kept the audience entertained with conversation between models.

We had an enthusiastic standing room only audience for the Show.  Below are photos of some of the people who came to enjoy it.
